SAINT PEPSI is the alias of American musician Ryan DeRobertis, who now goes by Skyler Spence. Saint Pepsi was an early artist to participate in the genre and rose to online notoriety after releasing Late Night Delight on Feb 2, 2013 with Luxury Elite as a collaborator. Which is now considered a classic.
Pepsi would experiment with the vaporwave sound and become a trailblazer of the subgenre of Future Funk with his album Hit Vibes releasing on May 31, 2013. Hit Vibes is considered his magnum opus and is still one of the most popular and successful albums in Future Funk.
He would retire the alias “Saint Pepsi” due to legal threats from the Pepsi Company and change his name to Skyler Spence. He would return to the Saint Pepsi alias for one last time with the 2019 release of Mannequin Challenge, and would occasionally perform under the name when doing vaporwave shows.
