HYDROPLANED INTO A FALSE REALITY! is the main alias of Utah-based experimental musician Ian Boekweg. He is the owner of the label WORLD END COLLAPSE RECORDS, which is home to releases primarily by him. His material can be described as more unconventional within the Vaporwave genre, as it usually incorporates elements of noise music, classic plunderphonics, and unnerving drones. He made his debut in August of 2022 with his album "JESUS CHRIST RAIN HEAVEN", an 8 track release consisting of reverb heavy remixes of obscure video game soundtracks that was his first ever attempt at making Vaporwave. The album was deleted shortly after it's release due to Ian not being satisfied with how it turned out, however, as of April 10th, 2024, it's now available to listen to again among various other lost projects of his. His main discography consists of about 5 albums, and he has been involved in various side projects, such as Ceramic Planetarium - a duo he formed with fellow musician Liam Smidzik in 2024, and d i s c i p l e - a slushwave project containing some of the most skeletal and hypnotic music to come out of the subgenre.
