Description

dsfwan (desert sand feels warm at night) is one of the most recognized names in vaporwave out of those who have become prominent in the last few years, commended for their extremely consistent quality of work and respect towards building more intricate scenes than others within their style.

However, the tone of this release may surprise certain listeners who have familiarized themselves with a particular sound that this artist has been known for, that being the phaser driven, slow-crawling area of vapor known as slushwave. This release is very different from most of dsfwan's catalogue in that it is more reminiscent of classic vapor, though there are certainly points within this album that show an affinity for the same feel evoked by their later work.

While somewhat short compared to other releases in their catalogue, this album is very dense, each track feeling as if it contributes perfectly in bridging to and from the ones surrounding it while having its own clear place in the track list.

In terms of texture, there is an inexplicable connection between this piece and the feel of a strip along the main street of a small town, surrounded by dim streetlights and nearly devoid of cars. We've tested the effects of listening to the whole of this several times through late walks at night, satisfied at the end of each go.

Nothing was spared to make sure that this is an excellent experience from front to back.
