During the brief period I was into vaporwave, I always felt a little disconnected from the style's aesthetics and its obsession with East Asian retro-futurism and 1980s American luxury. My response was to create an overtly British vaporwave album, using TV themes and pop songs from the '80s and '90s, and taking inspiration from my childhood trainspotting trips.
