Description

"In the late 1980s the various insidious zaibatsu that control Japan realized a startling trend - the Japanese fertility rate was staggeringly low and dropping at drastic levels. The Victor Company of Japan Ltd., having just begun their secret media war with Sony's Betamax and the ruthless LaserDiscs of MCA, recruited several veteran Japanese pornographic filmmakers (the so-called "pillars of pink") to develop subliminal propaganda. The plan was not only to underhandedly persuade the Japanese public to buy VHS tapes, but also to go forth and multiply. A key function of this was music - the pink film directors understood the importance of mood in sex, and thus a specific set of ambience was needed. In the dark and steamy rooms of Japanese bathhouse recording studios, the perfect psychological resonance was synthesized by the transformation of pop music, allowing for premium sexual magic. However, with the burst of the economic bubble of Japan and the realigned focus to highly sexualized violent animation, the project was left to collect dust, the tapes forgotten. Until now. Breathe deeply and feel the touch in the hazy sound of . . . Pink Films."
