Description
This is it…
Thank you for listening to [天気予報]. My words cannot describe how thankful I am for supporting this project throughout the years. As I packed up everything, I wanted to put up one final release as I couldn’t fulfill my promises. To make up for most of my false promises, I’ve created this titled “Beyond The Veil.”
Heavily inspired by Helmut Lang’s Make It Hard. “The transition between the past and the future.”This LP is created by purposely destroying most of my [天気予報] physicals I’ve collected since inception and recording it if it is still audible (albeit with heavy use of effects from my pedals or others), with this, it destroys eight years of work with little to no remorse (made in one take).
It may sound comical or disgusting, and its primary purpose… to evoke a wide range of emotions. Love it or hate it, I’m satisfied with the final product, and destroying them is pretty fun.
Now that I’ve finished the first half, the second half is mostly some insights regarding my favourite [天気予報] albums that I want to share and some to reminisce about.
As you may know, [巡] is pretty much one of my favourite albums in the line, but it was merely an afterthought when thinking of continuing this project in the first place. It’s Virtual Polygon’s Imagine with added effects. Nonetheless, doing it in one session is pretty good, as most of the samples fit together, making one cohesive album. Moving from tracks to art, I’ve been on a rabbit hole of finding the origin of the [巡] album art… I can’t remember how many hours I’ve sunk on finding this CM from CM yearbooks to Betamax tapes. It's a 15-second CM with them pushing a yellow car to a hill. Nevertheless, I have yet to find it… If you found it give me an e-mail as I want to see it again.
[ひまわり画像], an album that needs no introduction. It almost got scrapped after months in production limbo during the summer of 2018. I announced in my own (now defunct) imprint that this will be out with 120 tracks on its belt. I decided to scrap the original plan and create it based on a typical TV broadcast schedule from early morning to midnight. It was a daunting task, but I pulled a crazy rollout with it. I do see people trying to decipher the samples I used. I’d say good luck (I did manage to identify half of the samples used).
Let's finish it where it all started: my debut album… wasn’t my favourite project then. It mostly started when I encountered a Cecile CM during my hunt for samples to use (Primarily for Virtual Polygon). I initially planned it as a Virtual Polygon Album for a particular label but scrapped it as it wouldn’t be a fit for Virtual Polygon. I am glad that I made that decision. If I chose the latter, [天気予報] wouldn’t have existed, and I wouldn’t have explored signalwave at all.
Alright, it's time to wrap up or else I could go on and on and bore you to death. Overall, Again, thank you so much and goodbye. Hopefully, we see each other again.
