The Collection is a sampler release by tech noir, released on Plastic Response Recordings simultaneously with 회사AUTO's Greatest Hits. The release includes compressed versions of their first eight releases, tracks from their penultimate album (齐), and two exclusive tracks.

In 2021, the album was republished under the 회사AUTO name, renamed as IX: The Noir Collection, with the tracks translated to English and with new cover artwork. This version of the release notably removes the tracks from 齐, as it was previously also re-released as a 회사AUTO album.

Notes

• war dusk (Windows 98の remix) is also included in Windows 98の's BLUE SCREEN 001.2 (THE REMIXES) compilation as War Dusk (Tech Noir Remix). Curiously, the track is considered more of a back-and-forth collaboration between the two artists than a remix of a particular track.

At the end of 2015 a series of mysterious releases surfaced on a variety of different labels, but nobody was sure who was responsible for the East Asian dystopian soundscapes that is Tech Noir.. until now.. the cats out of the bag. Tech Noir is a side project of sorts from experimental artist and vaporwave heavyweight 회사AUTO. We have collected those recordings, and more, onto one cassette for you to enjoy.
