MindSpring Memories' take on slushwave is one that encompasses and evokes the unreal and the digital, projecting concepts which only previously existed in computed worlds and extracting them into the physical through clever manipulation of sound. There's something awestriking about the scope of her work and what it accomplishes, with "❄☁❄☁❄☁❄☁❄" being a bold example.

The digital coolness of an artificial arctic effortlessly comes to life, buried under layers of phaser-laden snow and ethereal vocals. With a genre name like "slushwave", it almost comes as a surprise that the concept of snowy landscapes hadn't been explored as deeply elsewhere. With flawless execution, "❄☁❄☁❄☁❄☁❄" feels deep and complex with how well its effects are layered, burying vocals underneath themselves as they slowly pass on by, roll over once more, and then fade in a third pass. Struck chords almost have a "twinkling" sort of effect to them, reinforcing the themes with ease.

There are many albums that people will tell you "sound like their cover", but there are very few artists who exemplify this to the farthest abstracts as MindSpring Memories does. A single peek at the cover of "❄☁❄☁❄☁❄☁❄" invites a listener in for an experience which is nothing short of a picture perfect recreation of its intricate and smooth design.
