Description
Metallic Ghosts' The Pleasure Centre told the story of 2026, the last year of capitalism in our world. It was a last hurrah to excess and freedom before the supermall's inevitable shuttering in 2027. After a quick demolition of The Pleasure Centre, the government swiftly completed SkyTower, the world's first fully indestructible urban tower. Initially, the tower was branded as a luxury, but in 2030, the towers began to pop up in all urban areas, and with their ability to hold an entire city's population in a 4 city block space, the efficiency and controllability of the towers (they only have an entrance, no exit), it became law that earth's population would begin only living in SkyTowers.
Metallic Ghosts returns to the future to detail the feeling of living in the first of these giant, indestructible towers, telling the story of a longtime resident of SkyTower, and her struggle to find meaning in a life where all she can listen to is vaporwave garbage.
