2814 (aka 2814) is a collaborative split between a music producer HKE and a music producer t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者. The project began in 2014 with the release titled 2814, which started the series of releases under the 2814 project that are often regarded as one of the best vaporwave releases. Both artists were already prominent figures in the vaporwave scene at the beginning of the project, pushing their status to new heights with the immense popularity of the 新しい日の誕生 (Atarashī hi no tanjō) release and major musical achievements in the sound of each release, while also improving from both artists' solo discographies and their past collaborations. Both music producers draw major inspiration from cyberpunk aesthetics, most notably the visuals of Blade Runner and the music akin to the movie's soundtrack.

The project has a few stylings of its' name (2814, 2 8 1 4), originating from the year the project started.
2814 (previously rendered as 2814, meant as a creative rendering of the group's year of origin) is a collaborative project between Dream Catalogue founders HKE and t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者. The pair's 2015 release 新しい日の誕生 was notable for being a part of a large shift of the vaporwave genre (and, by extension of the founders and the future of Dream Catalogue at the time, the still-developing dreampunk genre tag) into the mainstream. The group's success can be seen as a major factor in later vaporwave releases delving further into original instrumentation and more cinematic, cyberpunk-style branding.
